Financial Risk Management (FRM®): An enriching Career Option. Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP, USA) offers FRM Program to all risk management Professionals. It’s a globally recognized professional certification. On successful completion of the course, a candidate is offered a ‘FRM Charter
 

Eligibility :

There are no pre-qualification required to sit for the FRM Exam. However, the FRM program is recommended to B.com, B-tech, MBA, CFA, CA, CPA, and other finance professionals. As, this is an specialization program into Risk Management

Anyone can take Financial Risk Management Course examination irrespective of qualification. However, it is advised to take the FRM exam only after graduation.

Duration:

It takes nearly about 1.5 to 2 years to clear Part 1 and Part 2 of FRM Exams. Exams are conducted twice a year in May and November. The approximate cost of two exams is 60,000 (USD 1000) and tuition fee is 50,000.

Exam Duration

Each part of the exam is for four hours. FRM Exam part I consists of 100 multiple choice questions. So, technically we get 2.4 Mins for each questions. Which is more than CFA exam where we only get 1.5 min per question. FRM exam part I is held in morning session.

FRM Exam part II has 80 questions and same four hours but it is held in the afternoon session.

Calculators are allowed in the exams. You can buy Texas Instrument BA II Plus / HP 10B II / HP 12C

Scoring

The is no negative marking for wrong answers. Candidates must pass FRM Exam part I in order to have FRM Exam part II graded. If you fail in FRM Exam part I and pass in FRM Exam part II you have to give both the exams again. Here, it is recommended that you should appear in exams one by one.

Results

Exam results are declared by email after 6 weeks of the exam. Candidates are given quartile results it’ll help them in judging their scores on specific areas relative to other candidates.

In order for your exam registration to be considered complete, payment must have been received by GARP by midnight, EDT, on the closing date of each registration period. For the May 2019 FRM Exam, these dates are: January 31, 2019; February 28, 2019; or April 15, 2019, respectively.

HOW CAN I PAY FOR THE EXAM?

Candidates can pay for their exam registration via the following options:

  1. Credit card online – GARP accepts MasterCard, Visa, or Amex Check
  2. Check – Must be a US bank check or a foreign check with a US intermediate bank wire
  3. Wire – Wire instructions can be found on the bottom of your invoice

For any manual payments by check or wire there is a USD 50 processing fee that will be added to your invoice. Be sure to include your GARP ID, a copy of your invoice, and your signature for approval.
